MASSIVE 5% SILVER-PLATED CONDUCTORS

Massive conductors prevent mutual interference between the wires in twisted cables and reduce jitter. Massive silver-plated conductors are perfect for high-frequency applications. These signals, due to their high frequency, primarily travel on the surface of the conductor. Because this surface is made of a highly pure grade of silver, the performance is nearly equivalent to that of a solid silver conductor, but at a much closer price point to solid copper cables. This is an incredibly cost-effective way to produce high-quality Digital Coax cables.

CARBON-BASED 5-LAYER NOISE-DISSIPATION SYSTEM (NDS)

100% shielding is simple. Preventing captured RF interference from modulating the equipment's ground potential requires AQ's Noise-Dissipation System. Metal and carbon-enriched plastics prevent a large portion of the captured RFI from reaching the equipment's grounding.

100% SHIELDING (COPPER FOIL + SILVER SPIRAL)

Shielding plays an important role in any cable design, but the shielding of coax interconnects is especially important because they not only serve as shielding but also as a return path. Therefore, AudioQuest pays extra attention to the quality of the metals used and the production techniques used for the shielding, as both have an effect on the image and sound quality.

COLD-WELDED DIRECT SILVER-PLATED PURE 'PURPLE-COPPER' PLUGS

This plug design allows for a solder-free connection, a common source of distortion. Because the plugs are not machined but instead pressed, a metal with low distortion can be chosen without considering machinability. Purple copper offers a cleaner, clearer sound than the nickel-plated or OFHC metals typically used in the plugs of competing manufacturers.

FOAM-POLYETHYLENE INSULATION

Any solid material next to a conductor actually becomes part of an imperfect circuit. Wire insulation and printed circuit board materials all absorb energy. Some of this energy is stored and then released as distortion. Because air absorbs virtually no energy and polyethylene has low loss and a good distortion profile, Foamed-PE with its high air content causes much less of the blurred effect that occurs with other materials.
