AudioQuest Carbon USB A to B

CARBON-BASED 3-LAYER NOISE-DISSIPATION SYSTEM (NDS)

Achieving 100% shielding is simple. To prevent the captured radio frequency interference (RFI) from modulating the ground reference of the equipment, AQ's Noise-Dissipation System (NDS) is required. Traditional shielding systems typically absorb noise/RF energy and then dissipate it to the component's ground, thereby modulating and distorting the critical "reference" ground plane, which in turn causes signal distortion. The alternating layers of metal and carbon-loaded plastics of NDS "shield the shield" and absorb and reflect most of this noise/RF energy before it reaches the ground layer.

FOAMED-POLYETHYLENE INSULATION

Any solid material adjacent to a conductor actually becomes part of an imperfect circuit. Wire insulation and printed circuit board materials all absorb energy. Some of this energy is stored and then released as distortion. Because air absorbs virtually no energy and polyethylene has low loss and a good distortion profile, Foamed-PE with its high air content causes much less of the out-of-focus effect that occurs with other materials.

SOLID 5% SILVER-PLATED CONDUCTORS

Solid conductors eliminate distortion caused by strand interaction and reduce jitter. Solid silver-plated conductors are excellent for applications with very high frequencies, such as HDMI audio. These high-frequency signals travel almost exclusively on the surface of the conductor. Because the surface is made of high-purity silver, the performance is very close to that of a solid silver cable, but with a price much closer to that of a solid copper cable. This is a significantly cost-effective way to produce high-quality HDMI cables.

All conductors checked for RF (radio frequency) noise directionality sensitivity
