AudioQuest Diamond USB 3.0 A to Micro

Massive Perfect-Surface Silver (PSS) conductorsPerfect-Surface technology applied to extremely pure silver provides unprecedented clarity and dynamic contrast. Perfect-Surface Silver (PSS) is AudioQuest's highest quality metal. Solid conductors prevent interaction between strands, a significant source of cable distortion. Extremely pure Perfect-Surface Silver minimizes distortion caused by grain boundaries that exist within a metal conductor, virtually eliminating hardness and significantly increasing clarity compared to OFHC, OCC, 8N, and other copper.

Carbon-based 3-layer noise-dissipation system (NDS)

Achieving 100% shield coverage is easy. To prevent captured radio frequency interference (RFI) from modulating the equipment's ground reference, AQ's Noise-Dissipation System (NDS) is required. Traditional shielding systems typically absorb noise/RF energy and then dissipate it to the ground of the components, modulating and distorting the critical "reference" grounding plane, which in turn causes signal distortion. NDS's alternating layers of metal and carbon-loaded plastic "shield the shield" and absorb and reflect most of this noise/RF energy before it reaches the layer that is grounded.

Dielectric bias system with radio frequency fall

All insulation between two or more conductors is also a dielectric that will affect the integrity of the signal. When the dielectric is unbiased, dielectric involvement (absorption and non-linear release of energy) causes different amounts of time delay (phase shift) for different frequencies and energy levels, which is a real problem for highly time-sensitive multi-octave audio. The inclusion of an RF Trap (developed for AudioQuest's Niagara series power products) ensures that no radio frequency noise is induced into the signal conductors of the DBS field elements. Hard-Cell Foam insulation

Hard-Cell Foam (HCF) insulation provides critical signal pair geometry. Any solid material adjacent to a conductor is actually part of an imperfect circuit. Wire insulation and printed circuit board materials all absorb energy. Some of this energy is stored and then released as distortion. Hard-cell foam insulation is similar to the foamed PE used in our more affordable Bridges & Falls cables, and is injected with nitrogen to create air bubbles. Because nitrogen (like air) does not absorb energy and therefore does not release energy from or into the conductor, distortion is reduced. Additionally, the stiffness of the material ensures that the cable's conductors maintain a stable relationship over the entire length of the cable, creating a stable impedance characteristic and further minimizing distortion.

All conductors checked for directional RF noise
