AudioQuest Ethernet Diamond CAT7
Over the past few years, there has been a revolution in the way people store, distribute, and access their digital media, such as photos, movies, and of course, music. Because we are no longer dependent on physical media, our media now consists mostly of data that we can move across multiple devices and multiple locations. For audio applications and protocols, Ethernet offers the advantage of high speed, low latency, the ability to transport over long distances (300 meters without active booster or repeater), extremely low jitter, and bit-perfect communication. Who wouldn't want all these benefits!
MASSIVE 100% PERFECT-SURFACE SILVER CONDUCTORS (PSS): Perfect-Surface technology applied to silver with an extreme degree of purity provides unprecedented clarity and dynamic contrast. Solid conductors prevent mutual interference between wires in twisted cables, which is a major source of distortion in cables. Perfect-Surface Silver with an extreme degree of purity minimizes distortion caused by the interfaces between atoms in a metal conductor, virtually eliminating hardness and increasing clarity compared to OFHC, OCC, 8N, and other copper types.
MASSIVE HIGH-DENSITY POLYETHYLENE INSULATION: Every solid adjacent to a conductor is actually part of an imperfect circuit. Cable insulation and printed circuit board materials absorb energy (loss). Some of this energy is stored and released as distortion. Insulation with solid high-density polyethylene ensures that the critical cable geometry remains intact, while minimizing the phase distortions caused by insulation.
DIELECTRIC BIAS SYSTEM (DBS, US Pat #s 7,126,055 & 7,872,195 B1): All insulation materials slow down the signal in the conductor they surround. When an insulation material has not been pre-stressed, it will unevenly delay the signal, a major problem for time-sensitive multi-octave audio signals. AudioQuest's DBS provides a strong and stable electric field that saturates and polarizes (organizes) the molecules in the insulation. This minimizes both energy storage in the insulation and the multiple non-linear time errors that occur. Sounds come from a surprisingly dark background with unexpected detailing and dynamic contrast. The batteries in the DBS system last for years. A test button and LED allow you to check the batteries occasionally.
CARBON-BASED 3-LAYER NOISE-DISSIPATION SYSTEM (NDS): 100% shielding is simple. Preventing captured RF interference from modulating the equipment's ground potential requires AQ's Noise-Dissipation System. Metal and carbon-enriched plastics prevent a large portion of the captured RFI from reaching the equipment's ground.CONNECTIONS: Low-loss connectors produced to tight tolerances with large bandwidth and 100% shielding with strain relief.
HIGH SPEED DATA CAPACITY: The CAT 7 specification was developed to enable 10 Gigabit Ethernet over 100 m copper cable.
DIRECTIONALITY: All audio cables are directional. The correct direction is determined by listening to each party's metal conductors, as used in all AudioQuest cables. Arrows on the plugs clearly indicate the correct direction for optimal sound quality. For best results, the arrows should point in the direction of the signal flow. For example, from a NAS to the Router, or from the Router to a Network player.
