MASSIVE PERFECT-SURFACE COPPER + conductors (PSC+)

Perfect-Surface Copper+ has an amazingly smooth and pure surface. Patented metal processing technologies protect the surface of the conductor at every stage of the production process, from drawing to manufacturing. When copper with high purity and minimal oxides is kept as soft, pure, and smooth as possible, you get a fantastic PSC+ conductor with low distortion. The result is a sound quality that is even more focused and simply less obstructive. For over 30 years, AudioQuest has been a pioneer in the use of superior metals, but even we were surprised by this enormous leap in performance made possible by Perfect-Surface technology. PSC+ clearly outperforms previously available copper metals, regardless of price. Conductors are solid. Electrical and magnetic interaction between the wires in a conventional cable is the main source of distortion, which often results in a somewhat ragged and harsh sound. Solid conductors are essential for the very clean sound of.

CARBON-BASED 3-LAYER NOISE-DISSIPATION SYSTEM (NDS)

Achieving 100% shielding is simple. To prevent captured radio frequency interference (RFI) from modulating the equipment's ground reference, AQ's Noise-Dissipation System (NDS) is required. Traditional shielding systems typically absorb noise/RF energy and then dissipate it to the component's ground, thereby modulating and distorting the critical "reference" ground plane itself, which in turn causes signal distortion. The alternating layers of metal and carbon-loaded plastics of NDS 'shield the shield' and absorb and reflect most of this noise/RF energy before it reaches the ground-attached layer.

TRIPLE-BALANCED GEOMETRY

Our triple-balanced geometry uses a separate ground conductor so that the cable's shielding is never used as an inferior conductor. Whether the cable is equipped with RCA or XLR connectors, the three conductors of the cable ensure that the positive and negative signals have equally superior, low-distortion conducting paths.

COLD-WELDED DIRECT SILVER-PLATED PURE 'PURPLE-COPPER' PLUGS

This plug design allows for a solder-free connection, a common source of distortion. Because the plugs are not machined but instead pressed, a low-distortion metal can be chosen without having to consider machinability. Purple copper offers a cleaner, clearer sound than the nickel-plated or OFHC metals typically used in the plugs of competing manufacturers.

FOAM-POLYETHYLENE INSULATION

Any solid material next to a conductor actually becomes part of an imperfect circuit. Wire insulation and printed circuit board materials all absorb energy. Some of this energy is stored and then released as distortion. Because air absorbs virtually no energy and polyethylene has low loss and a good distortion profile, Foamed-PE with its high air content causes much less of the blurred effect that occurs with other materials.
