DOUBLE STAR-QUAD GEOMETRY
The relationship between the conductors determines the electrical basic values of a cable (capacity and inductance). But even when these variables are kept in a reasonably neutral balance, the special geometric relationship between the conductors has a significant impact on the sound. Star-Quad geometry is not only much better than parallel conductors, but also better than the same conductors as two twisted pairs.
SOLID PERFECT-SURFACE COPPER (PSC)/LONG-GRAIN COPPER (LGC) CONDUCTORS
This cable uses a carefully designed combination of Long-Grain Copper (LGC) and extremely pure Perfect-Surface Copper (PSC). LGC has fewer oxides in the conductive material, fewer impurities, fewer grain boundaries, and absolutely better performance. The stunningly smooth and pure PSC further eliminates roughness and significantly increases clarity.
CARBON-BASED NOISE AND CROSSTALK REDUCTION SYSTEM
The negative conductors of this cable are coated with partially conductive carbon-loaded polyethylene. This remarkable material reduces the radio frequency noise that is fed back to the amplifier. The sound benefit is exactly the same reduction in "hash" and improved dimensionality that occurs when RF interference is reduced in an audio circuit. In addition, a carbon layer dampens the interaction between positive and negative conductors, and a carbon-based external noise reduction system reduces external interference.
-POLYETHYLENE INSULATION (FOR ALL POSITIVE CONDUCTORS)
Any solid material adjacent to a conductor is actually part of an imperfect circuit. Wire insulation and printed circuit board materials all absorb energy. Some of this energy is stored and then released as distortion. However, this cable uses air-filled polyethylene foam insulation on both conductors. Because air absorbs almost no energy and Polyethylene has low loss and a benign distortion profile, Foamed-PE, with its high air content, causes much less of the out-of-focus effect that is common with other materials.
