MASSIVE PERFECT-SURFACE COPPER + conductors (PSC+)

Perfect-Surface Copper+ has an amazingly smooth and pure surface. Patented metal processing technologies protect the surface of the conductor at every stage of the production process, from drawing to manufacturing. When copper with high purity and minimal oxides is kept as soft, pure, and smooth as possible, you get a fantastic PSC+ conductor with low distortion. The result is a sound quality that is even more focused and simply less obstructive. For over 30 years, AudioQuest has been a pioneer in the use of superior metals, but even we were surprised by this huge leap in performance made possible by Perfect-Surface technology. PSC+ clearly outperforms previously available copper metals, regardless of price. Conductors are solid. Electrical and magnetic interaction between the wires in a conventional cable is the main source of distortion, often resulting in a somewhat frayed and harsh sound. Solid conductors are essential for the very clean sound of.

CARBON-BASED 3-LAYER NOISE-DISSIPATION SYSTEM (NDS)

100% shielding is easy to achieve. To prevent the captured radio frequency interference (RFI) from modulating the equipment's ground reference, AQ's Noise-Dissipation System (NDS) is required. Traditional shielding systems typically absorb noise/RF energy and then dissipate it to the component's ground, modulating and distorting the critical "reference" ground plane itself, which in turn causes signal distortion. The alternating layers of metal and carbon-loaded plastics of NDS 'shield the shield' and absorb and reflect most of this noise/RF energy before it reaches the layer attached to the ground.

POLYETHYLENE AIR-TUBE INSULATION

Every solid adjacent to a conductor is in fact part of an imperfect circuit. Cable insulation and printed circuit board materials absorb energy (loss). Some of this energy is stored and released as distortion. Husky uses Air-Tube insulation for all conductors, as air absorbs virtually no energy and Polyethylene has little loss and also has a favorable distortion profile. PE Air-Tube insulation causes much less out-of-focus effects than other materials.

TRIPLE-BALANCED GEOMETRY

Our triple-balanced geometry uses a separate ground conductor, so the cable's shielding is never used as an inferior conductor. Whether the cable is equipped with RCA or XLR connectors, the three conductors of the cable ensure that the positive and negative signals have equally superior, low-distortion conducting paths.

COLD-WELDED DIRECT SILVER-PLATED PURE 'PURPLE-COPPER' PLUGS

This plug design allows for a solder-free connection, a common source of distortion. Because the plugs are not machined but pressed, a metal with low distortion can be chosen without having to consider machinability. Purple copper provides a cleaner, clearer sound than the nickel-plated or OFHC metals usually used in the plugs of competing manufacturers.
