Dan D'Agostino Momentum M400MvX The name of the new Dan D'Agostino Momentum M400 MvX reveals most of the upgrade. The output power has been increased to 400 watts, which is more than the original 300 watts. The backbone of the power increase is a new ultra-quiet 1,800VA linear transformer - a 20% increase over the original. Coupled with this larger power source is a new design with several important improvements.

Momentum M400 Richer Sound

In the new Momentum M400, the phase of the driver section has been increased to a fully complementary design. Individual transistors are now used for the positive and negative halves of the musical signal. This modification almost doubles the current drive needed to maximize the improved output stage that follows. The new Output Stage takes this increased drive to amplify the open-loop gain by the same factor of two. The result is a sound that is richer and more expansive.

Aesthetic Improvements

The Momentum M400 uses the same chassis as the original with a small aesthetic design change in the copper parts on the sides of the front plate. Additionally, the meter now displays a scale suitable for the larger power output.
