Furutech The Astoria
The Furutech The Astoria is the little brother of The Empire Power Cable. Little brother is relative because compared to The Empire, the internal 'Alpha PC-Triple-C' wiring has been kept the same. The main difference is the copper non-plated Schuko and IEC connectors with which the Astoria is equipped.
Katana technology
Furutech uses an ancient Japanese technique to take the quality of their power cables and signal cables to a new level. This is also the case with The Astoria and The Empire power cables.
In ancient Japan, Katana swords were made by folding the steel on itself up to thousands of times. This resulted in a steel of extreme purity that remains sharp for many years - and even centuries. This same technology is incorporated into the Furutech The Astoria and Furutech The Empire power cables. During the cable manufacturing process, extremely pure oxygen-free copper is folded on itself thousands of times under extreme heat to create a surface that is much smoother than any other power cable from competing brands. This is fully in line with Furutech's "Pure Transmission" philosophy: to manufacture cables that do not have their own sound, but rather enhance the sound of your equipment.
