Jitter

The emotional response to music is more sensitive to jitter than previously realized. The focus shifted from "reducing jitter" to achieving the most stable clock possible. This research yielded a surprisingly wide range of previously underestimated performance factors. Such as power supply noise, oscillator control circuit noise, and low crosstalk. The radically redesigned discrete crystal oscillator improves clock stability, even that of the best available test equipment.

To synchronize with an external reference, the CC1 features a PLL that provides an astonishing 90dB jitter suppression at 10Hz, and further improves at 60dB/dec. The CC1 offers base rates of 44.1 kHz and 48 kHz and 1/2/4 multiples in separately selectable groups, in addition to an AES/EBU reclocker for cleaning the digital feed to your DA converter.
