The Linn Kandid Cartridge is 'nude' - the generator is exposed. By lacking a housing, potential sources of resonance are eliminated, resulting in a purer and cleaner sound, making all your vinyl sound better than ever before.

Linn has also reduced the weight of the cartridge by using a plastic screw for the front instead of metal. This allows us to place the counterweight closer to the pivot point, allowing for faster response to changes in the vinyl record. The use of a plastic screw also eliminates magnetic interference with the delicate coils in the cartridge.

Another notable innovation in the Linn Kandid cartridge is the angle of the mechanical body and the tracking angle of the cantilever, both of which have been moved from 23° to 20°. This keeps the flux lines symmetrical when tracking force is applied to the surface of the LP, ensuring that mechanical forces on the coils and iron core remain equal in all directions and distortion is prevented.

The Linn Kandid Cartridge uses a fine diamond Line Contact needle and benefits from a ceramic boron cantilever for ultra-low weight and extremely high stiffness. The suspension system supports hand-wound coils that are attached in a highly precise and rigid construction, with gold-plated contacts on flying leads for excellent signal transmission. Additionally, Kandid includes an additional winding to increase output performance.
