Mark Levinson No 5802
Mark Levinson. The name alone resonates with a legendary history. Over 45 years of High End Audio driven by an obsession-like quest for perfection. It all started with the desire to build an amplifier that combined the musical class of a tube with the reliability and power of a transistor.
The No 5802 is an integrated amplifier in a version with only digital inputs. Ideal for users who only have digital sources. Apart from the absence of analog inputs and the analog board, the No 5802 is technically identical to the No 5805. The PrecisionLinkII DAC, like the No 5805, is built around an ESS Sabre 32Bit DA Converter chip, with the Mark Levinson engineers creating their own and discrete current-to-voltage converter. Volume control is achieved with extreme precision directly on the DAC board, keeping the signal paths extremely short. In addition, the No 5802 has a few extra digital inputs compared to the No 5805, including 2 RCA coaxial digital, 2 Toslink optical digital, an AES/EBU, and a USB Audio input.
