Roon Nucleus

The Nucleus is the heart of every Roon infrastructure and this hardware is specially designed for use with powerful Roon software, which allows you to easily set up a multi-room and multi-platform streaming ecosystem. Stream your music with this Nucleus from internal or external storage devices, NAS, and online services. You can even stream with multiple users to multiple different rooms simultaneously.

If you would like more information about the album or the artist, Roon will show it to you in an instant. If you are curious about which artists fit your music taste, the app will provide you with various suggestions at a glance.

Storage Capacity

Internally, the Nucleus can accommodate a 2.5-inch HDD or SSD for storing your digital music files. Externally, you can connect USB storage devices to it. There are two USB 3.0 ports available for this purpose. Furthermore, the Nucleus has an RJ45 gigabit network connection and an HDMI connection for stereo and multichannel output. Since the Nucleus does not have an internal fan, it operates silently. So simply place it in the listening room and connect it to a DAC with USB or HDMI connection. This way, the Nucleus also serves as an audiophile streaming bridge.

Two Powerful Variants

For music lovers with a TIDAL or Qobuz subscription and a limited digital music library, the basic version of the Nucleus is an excellent choice. With this version, you can stream to a maximum of 6 different rooms (Roon end-points). It has a maximum capacity of 10,000 music albums or 100,000 tracks. It also supports all possible Roon DSP functions for PCM streams.

The plus version can even handle larger music libraries. In addition to the many DSP capabilities of the basic version, the plus version can also edit DSD streams.
