Description

More from this brand

The Computer Audio Design GC1.1 contains special materials from the aircraft industry that effectively remove high-frequency energy from the audio circuits and convert this energy into heat. CAD's research has shown that in order to achieve the best sound quality, the GC1.1 must be effective in a wide frequency range. This was not easy to achieve, but CAD has succeeded in removing high-frequency pollution up to 10Ghz. The result is a significantly better sound image, more tranquility, greater focus, more detailing, and a more smooth, organic reproduction of the music.

Voltage references

There are two independent voltage references in each audio system:

Signal Ground

Earth

Earth is where the third pin on your plug is connected, which is then connected to the other ground wires in your home. By the way, in high-quality audio components, Earth is not always connected to the Signal Ground.

Signal-to-noise ratio

Computer Audio Design believes that reducing high-frequency noise on Signal Ground and Earth improves sound quality. Unfortunately, there is no commonly accepted industry technique for measuring noise levels on Signal Ground or Earth. A common measurement is signal-to-noise ratio. Signal-to-noise ratio (S/N) is the maximum output of a device (-0dB) divided by the minimum output of a device (the noise). The reference for both of these measurements is Signal Ground. S/N measurement is not the whole story because it tells you nothing about the sound on the Signal Ground. You can have a very good signal-to-noise ratio measurement while actually having significant noise on the Signal Ground.

Earth connection

There are two 4 mm Banana Sockets on the back of the CAD GC1.1 The GC1.1 or GC3.1 can also be connected to Earth when you have an Earth connection on your audio component. After all, any sound component made of metal on the outside must be connected to Earth according to the law for protection.

The best result

You will get the best result if you connect the CAD GC1.1 to the audio component in your system with the highest high-frequency noise level: components such as computers, audio servers, DACs, CD players, streamers, NAS, routers, etc. In addition, the CAD GC1 is very effective when connected to the Earth of the audio component.
